Developmental Projects
Elementary Developmental Project
One of the many distinguishing characteristics that truly sets NELA apart from other programs is the completion of developmental student projects. In my tenure in the classroom, I had no experience in the elementary sector until my residency. Completing the multiple facets of the Elementary Developmental Project allowed me to learn what occurs cognitively, physically, and psychologically in these students before they the reach middle school Click HERE to to experience my learning with the elementary school developmental project. |

High School Developmental Project
In completing two previous developmental projects, it should have been no surprise to the amount of learning I would gain from completing the the developmental project for high school. Much like many facets of NELA, I could not have been more wrong. Completing the observations at the feeder high school from where I taught, I was truly in awe at the maturity in all areas of the students whom I had the pleasure of educating 2-4 years prior. Middle School Developmental Project
Many people would not argue the phrase "middle schoolers are a different animal". My teaching experience stems from only middle school. However, in completing the middle school developmental project I was still able to learn much about the students whom I had taught for 10 years.
